Reason for being in STL

When Samrika was just 6 years old, Shed The Light (STL) rescued her. Samrika stayed with her mom following a difficult divorce between her parents. But after the divorce, her mom was going through a particularly difficult period of time, and she was unable to care for Samrika as much as she would have wanted. It was a very challenging time for them both.

 STL provided not only a safe home but also the promise of a brighter future. With their support, Samrika could see a path forward, filled with opportunities, care, and the chance to build a better life. STL’s kindness and assistance gave her the hope and strength to believe in a more promising tomorrow, where she could grow and thrive.
