Pemba Chiring Sherpa has been with Shed the Light for many years. He is now 19 and studying in class twelve at Xavier International College. Since the devastating earthquake in April 2015, Pemba has been working tirelessly with other PeaceMakers to provide relief and rehabitation to people in the worst affected areas in Dhading and Nuwakot Districts. Distributing rice and tarpaulins is one of the vital activities of which Pemba is a part.

As a PeaceMaker Pema has taken part in workshops to prepare him for working in these areas including First Aid, Earthquake Disaster Inspection and how to build huts, shelters and toilets.
